Karol Nawrocki announced the veto of three bills passed by the Sejm, emphasizing that while some solutions benefit Poland, he cannot accept provisions that worsen public finances or reduce penalties for tax crimes. He specifically rejected the National Tax Code bill, which included a deregulatory clause, and a bill on aid for Ukrainians, as it did not restrict support to working individuals. The vetoed legislation also proposed extending temporary legal stay for Ukrainian citizens until March 2025, banning short-term border crossing permissions for non-residents, and tightening rules for Ukrainian doctors and dentists practicing in Poland.

He criticized the bill as a threat to parliamentary majorities and public trust, arguing it should not be framed as a tool for reducing energy costs but as a regulatory measure impacting infrastructure and governance.
