Kraków. Woman Bitten by Dog, Owner Tried to Escape

A woman was attacked by an aggressive dog in Krakow, prompting police and emergency responders to intervene. The dog’s owner attempted to flee the scene before being restrained by officers.

Aggressive Dog Attacks Woman in Krakow

City Police in Krakow reported the incident via social media. Officers patrolling the Na Stoku neighborhood on Saturday evening (August 23) heard loud cries for help coming from a taxi stand. Upon arrival, they found the woman severely bitten by a dog. Immediately, they provided first aid, applied a tourniquet to her arm, and called both emergency services and the police.

Dog Owner Tried to Escape the Scene

At the scene, officers also noticed a mastiff dog being held by the woman’s husband. However, the animal’s owner began to distance himself upon seeing the officers. “The man behaved aggressively and did not respond to the officers’ commands, leading to the use of physical restraint and his subsequent handcuffing,” stated the Krakow City Police.

Dog Lacked Up-to-Date Vaccinations

The medical rescue team called by the officers decided to take the woman to the hospital. “Since the dog was found to be unvaccinated, the officers relayed this information to the attending physician,” the communication added. The matter was handed over to the police, who will conduct further investigations.
