A devastating fire broke out in an apartment on Konstancińska Street in Mokotow on Monday evening, where firefighters discovered the charred body of a man.

Fire breaks out in residential building

A tragic fire occurred on Monday evening in a multi-family building on Konstancińska Street in Mokotow. Firefighters found the charred body of a man in one of the apartments. The incident unfolded around 8:20 PM when emergency services were alerted to smoke coming from the ground-floor unit.

Apartment partially engulfed in flames

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered flames in one of the rooms, which had spread to a bed where the man’s body was located. The rest of the apartment was filled with smoke, prompting crews to extinguish smoldering furniture and thoroughly inspect the premises.

Emergency services and police involvement

Four teams from the State Fire Service, including the city’s operational unit, responded to the scene. The Medical Rescue Team also intervened to assist with the situation. Further investigations into the fire’s cause and circumstances are now being conducted by the police under the supervision of a prosecutor.
