Search operations for two Polish men missing in the Swiss Alps continue, with one of them reportedly sending an SOS signal. Meanwhile, a 34-year-old Polish national was found dead in a glacier crack in the Monte Rosa area.
Search for Poles in the Alps
Two Polish men, aged 52 and 78, are currently missing in the Swiss Alps. According to RMF FM, a car with Polish license plates was found empty in Saas-Grund, Valais canton. “The search is ongoing, these are very high mountains, there are four-thousand-meter peaks around this area, which are the highest in the Alps,” said Paweł Wroński, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Death of a Pole in the Alps
Valais canton police reported that a 34-year-old Polish citizen was found with severe injuries in a glacier crack of Monte Rosa, Zermatt, several days ago. “Despite immediate medical assistance and hospitalization in Sion, the man died that evening due to his injuries,” the statement reads.
