A Warsaw councillor, Antonina Wróblewska, was involved in an incident on August 4 at the Central Station, where she damaged a parked car and assaulted its owners with a chain before resigning from key civic roles.

A TVP Warsaw report stated that on August 4, a councillor damaged a parked car at Warsaw Central Station and subsequently used the chain to strike the vehicle’s male owner and his wife. Police and emergency services arrived at the scene following the incident.
She Resigns and Speaks Out
“I resign from the position of chairperson of the Housing Committee and vice-chairperson of the Social Policy and Health Committee. I am currently focusing on my treatment. I believe I will return stronger and continue fighting for what I have always fought for. Please keep your fingers crossed for me,” Wróblewska said in a statement on Tuesday. She also thanked supporters for their comments, adding she would not respond to others due to ongoing legal proceedings.

Antonina Wróblewska, 29, secured a mandate as a councillor for Praga-Północ in last year’s local elections, receiving 215 votes. She is an activist with the organization “Miasto Jest Nasze” (The City Is Ours) and ran on the Left Committee’s electoral list. In her biography on MJN, she noted completing two bachelor’s degrees in social disciplines from the University of Warsaw: (1) Applied Sociology and Social Anthropology, and (2) Labor Market Organization. She worked in corporations for six years, first in finance and later in HR, and has engaged in social activities and volunteering since sixth grade.
