“Fortunately, there are no injured people, and that is the most important information,” said Lieutenant Hubert Ciepły from the Kraków State Fire Service Command in an interview with TVP Info before 14:00. He emphasized that more than 100 firefighters are fighting the blaze, which has not yet been fully extinguished. “Firefighters are constantly trying to put out the fire, which is still not localized. Extinguishing efforts are also underway to protect neighboring warehouses at risk of fire. The operation remains dynamic and will certainly last a long time,” he added. According to the National Fire Service Command, the fire alert was received around 12:28, and over 40 fire vehicles were dispatched to the scene.

At this stage, the cause of the fire remains unknown.

Avoid This Part of the City

“Firefighting operations are ongoing in the southern part of Tarnów, where a zinc warehouse is burning,” said Tarnów Mayor Jakub Kwaśny in social media posts. “I was on site and remain in contact with the services. At this moment, the fire poses a threat to nearby buildings. There is congestion in the area—avoid this part of the city if possible and remain cautious,” he warned.
