Tusk After Cabinet Council Meeting: “Something Invaluable”. He Mentioned Instructions for Nawrocki

Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized the value of cooperation with President Andrzej Duda during a Cabinet Council meeting, despite political differences, focusing on shared priorities like Poland’s security and international interests.

Tusk After Cabinet Council Meeting: I Reaffirmed That Belief

Donald Tusk commented on the Cabinet Council meeting ahead of his trip to Moldova with German and French leaders. “Regardless of political differences, which are obvious between me and President Duda and his political camp, we are seeking common ground for action. These primarily concern security, foreign policy, and Poland’s strategic interests,” he said. “I reaffirmed my belief that wherever we can build a joint space and cooperation for Poland, we treat it as something invaluable in Polish politics,” Tusk added.

Prime Minister: I’m Ready for Tough Confrontation

“I will not ignore these differences. I am ready for tough confrontation on matters important for Poland, with both internal opponents and external political adversaries. However, the President of the Republic must continue seeking common positions. Today’s Cabinet Council was another, in my view, successful attempt to do so,” the premier stated.

“I Could Clarify Certain Information”

Tusk noted he was glad “the cameras allowed me to correct the President’s inaccuracies.” “The President is new to this role, so he deserves accurate information about the state of Polish affairs. I am pleased I could provide details and clarify certain inconsistencies in the statements of ministers or the President’s aides,” he said. As an example, he cited the government’s project on the Central Railway Node (CPK). “The President was clearly surprised about the speed limit for mainline railways in his project being reduced to 250—effectively 210-220 km/h. In our project, which we are preparing and implementing, the speed exceeds 300 km/h,” Tusk explained.

Instructions for Nawrocki Regarding the Trip to the USA

Tusk also spoke about the President’s visit to the United States. “We prepared—Vice Prime Minister Sikorski and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs—instructions for President Nawrocki’s trip to Washington. We provided these guidelines and also set a time to meet before his departure to discuss any details,” he added. “The government is responsible for shaping foreign policy and, of course, provides recommendations to the President and his office,” Tusk concluded.
