32-year-old skateboarder fled from police. “He accelerated and headed toward the city center”

A 32-year-old man fled from police after being assisted off a roundabout on an electric skateboard, ignoring traffic signals and speeding toward the city center.

Incident involving a resident of Kędzierzyna-Koźle

On Wednesday at 7 p.m., a police patrol noticed a man standing in the middle of a roundabout on an electric skateboard. He had obvious difficulties with traffic control. “The officers helped him leave the intersection and then ordered him to stop in a safe place for a traffic check,” the police stated. Instead of complying, the man accelerated and headed toward the city center.

32-year-old fined

The 32-year-old eventually lost control of the skateboard and collided with a police vehicle. He was arrested and claimed he had drunk alcohol and feared losing his driver’s license. However, a breathalyzer test showed no alcohol, while a drug test revealed he was under the influence of amphetamines. Blood samples were taken for further analysis. “The officers issued three fines: riding the wrong way on the road, refusing to comply with signals from an authorized officer, and causing a traffic hazard. The total amount of the fines was 7,000 zlotys,” the police reported. Driving a skateboard under the influence of a narcotic substance may result in an additional fine of 2,500 zlotys.
