TVN24 journalist Monika Olejnik on Facebook slammed the government meeting held by President Karol Nawrocki, emphasizing that political shows and lack of education undermine democracy.
Monika Olejnik addressed Karol Nawrocki
Monika Olejnik, a TVN24 journalist, commented on the Cabinet Council meeting convened by President Karol Nawrocki on August 27, stating that the event resembled a boxing ring with harsh accusations. She warned that without focusing on people’s interests rather than political posturing, Poland would fail, and insisted that protests do not yield results. “This is not a trifle,” she wrote. “A veto is not a toy. Without education, there is no democracy.”
Exchange between Karol Nawrocki and Donald Tusk during the Cabinet Council
President Nawrocki raised concerns over chaos in cooperation with the government, slow progress on strategic investments, and reports of the state budget deficit. “A 150 billion zł deficit is a clear alarm signal that something is wrong,” he stated. Prime Minister Donald Tusk responded, noting that the government aims to drastically expand Poland’s ambitious programs and plans, though they are approaching budgetary limits. He highlighted that infrastructure investments, including those for the Central Station (CPK), directly under the Ministry of Infrastructure, have increased by 100% in two years.
Karol Nawrocki: This direction will reduce vetoes and public debates
Nawrocki also referenced the laws he vetoed in the initial weeks of his presidency, stating that effective collaboration between the government and the president requires both sides to uphold their commitments. “This is the direction that will result in fewer vetoes and fewer public discussions,” he added.
