A 29‑year‑old Ukrainian was arrested in Warsaw after posting on social media threats to set Polish homes ablaze over the 800+ benefit, prompting a rapid police response.

Threats Publicized on Social Media

In late August a 29‑year‑old Ukrainian posted on the platform X a video pledging to burn Polish homes if the 800+ child benefit was withheld. The footage, uploaded by the “Służby w akcji” service, was later removed and the account deleted.

Police Arrest and Investigation

Shortly after the video appeared on the internet, Warsaw Police arrested the suspect on August 29 in the Praga Południe district of Warsaw. An investigation has been opened and the man will be charged under Article 255 of the Polish Criminal Code.

Cooperation with Border Guard and Deportation

The Central Police Headquarters is working with the Border Guard Authority to submit a deportation request. The suspect was transferred to the Warsaw Police Headquarters for questioning and proceedings are ongoing.
