Air Show Trials in Radom Turn Tragic as F-16 Fighter Jet Crashes

A fatal crash occurred during aviation show preparations in Radom on August 28, involving an F-16 jet from the Tiger Demo Team. The pilot died in the incident, and the event has been canceled.

Aircraft Crash During Air Show Preparations

A plane crash took place in Radom on Thursday, August 28, after 7:00 PM. Footage of the crash was recorded and uploaded to the X platform. The aircraft that crashed during preparations for the International Air Show in Radom was an F-16 belonging to the Tiger Demo Team. Vice Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz was en route to Radom. Minister Tomasz Siemoniak confirmed on TVN24 that the F-16 pilot died. “This is a very serious situation, a tragic evening for the Polish Air Force,” emphasized the special services coordinator.

Pilot’s Initial Visit to Radom

Earlier in the morning, the Tiger Demo Team’s profile announced that the pilot would acquaint themselves with Radom.

Crash Footage Released by Media Outlets

The moment of the crash was also published, among others, by the remiza.pl portal. In the longer video, the pilot is seen performing a flight. At one point, the aircraft drastically descends, hits the runway’s plate, and catches fire.

International Air Show Canceled

The shows in Radom were scheduled for August 30 and 31. Preliminary media investigations indicate that the International Air Show will not take place.
