Polish education minister Barbara Nowacka denounced former minister Przemysław Czarnkowski, calling his stance on the new health‑education curriculum “ignorant and arrogant,” and urged parents to withdraw their children from the subject.
Nowacka’s Reaction to Czarnkowski’s Remarks: A Revolting Delusion
On Polsat Newspod, Barbara Nowacka blasted former education minister Przemysław Czarnkowski for calling the proposed health‑education program “ignorant and arrogant.” The PiS politician had urged parents to remove their children from the new subject. Nowacka lamented that while Czarnkowski’s arrogance is unsurprising, his ignorance is “very sad” because “he obviously did not read the curriculum basics.” She challenged him: “Sexual life is part of our reality; if Czarnkowski can deny that, we must ask, where will teenagers look for information?” She dismissed his comments as “a revolting delusion.”
It Serves the Pornographic Lobby
Nowacka warned that the curriculum serves “a pornographic lobby.” She noted that children who cannot discuss health education with parents or learn it in school may turn to the Internet, where they’ll encounter harmful content such as grooming and child pornography. This, she argued, illustrates the dangers of right‑wing policy.
Health Education in Schools from September 1st
The new subject will be optional, starting from the fourth year of primary school and also available in upper‑secondary schools. Lessons will not be graded. Topics to be covered include physical health, physical activity, mental health, nutrition, addiction prevention, and sexual health. Students and girls will learn about sexual anatomy, personal autonomy, boundaries, and how laws protect minors from abuse and molestation. They will also receive information on online dangers such as grooming, child‑pornography racketeering, and other threats. Older students will gain knowledge on contraception, sexually transmitted infections, and related diseases.
