LOT Dreamliner Returns to Warsaw-Chopin After Mid-Flight Turn Back from Chicago

LOT flight LO 003 turned back to Warsaw-Chopin Airport near the Norway coast after mid-flight pressure warning in one engine.

Safety Protocol Activation

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, registration SP-LRG, turned back after oil pressure readings indicated a malfunction in one engine, forcing the LOT flight LO 003 to return to its departure point.

Passenger Care

LOT spokesperson Krzysztof Moczulski confirmed to TVN24 that all passengers would be provided with hotel accommodations. The airline’s call center was also adjusting reservations for future flights.

Previous Incident

In June, an Air India Dreamliner crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmadabad, in the Indian state of Gujarat, shortly after takeoff, killing at least 38 on the ground and one person on board, with 230 passengers and 12 crew members.
