A classified Polish government instruction leaked ahead of an official visit to the US has sparked a diplomatic dispute between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidential Chancellery.
Leaked Instruction Details
A classified instruction prepared by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for presidential envoy Karol Nawrocki’s US visit was leaked prior to the scheduled Wednesday (September 3) official visit to Washington. The document contained detailed instructions on what to say and not to say to Donald Trump.
Radoslaw Sikorski’s Reaction
Former Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski commented on the leaked document stating, “I would check who among his advisers was such a fool.” Sikorski added that it was clear that the document should have been kept confidential as it criticized the United States’ previous policies under President Donald Trump.
Presidential Administration Criticism
The Presidential Chancellery criticized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stating that the instruction was too vague. Presidential spokesman Rafał Leśkiewicz called the one-page document “a disgrace” and suggested it was unfit for serious nuclear negotiations.
