SGH: Opening of Rakowski Tram Platform and Traffic Changes in Warsaw

Starting September 1st, workers will shift to the west side of the SGH intersection, while the tram track near the university will be completed and reopened to traffic with new bus routes adjustments.

Planned Traffic Changes:

On September 1, the contractor for the tram junction will begin operating on the west side of the SGH intersection. The completed western part of the tram junction will expand service to the new route between Aleje Niepodleglosci and Puławska Street.

Temporary Road Closures:

The tram tracks near SGH will close overnight from August 31 to September 1, forcing drivers to use the eastbound lane on the opposite side of the road. Access to Stefan Batorego and Boboli Streets will require a detour.

Public Transport Adjustments:

Staff will return to the westbound lane near the university, with only left turns allowed on Bruna and Rakowski Streets. These changes are necessary while construction on a six-kilometer tram line prepares to be completed by the end of the year and improve connectivity for the university, metro station, and Pole Mokotowskie.
