Warning: Mountainous area of Lower Silesia seeing Puma sightings

Authorities warn residents in and around Kowary and Mysłakowice, Lower Silesia, to stay away from forests, especially after dark, after multiple puma sightings at a former private breeding facility.

Sightings Reported

Residents in the municipalities of Kowary and Mysłakowice reported sightings of a large feline, presumed to be a puma from a nearby private breeding facility. On Friday the 29th of August, these reports were published on social media and local government outlets. Reports indicate that the puma has been seen on the outskirts of Kowary, Lower Silesian Province.

Public Safety Warning

The authorities are urging locals to avoid dense forested and remote areas, especially during night time, stating that residents should take precautions to protect their children and pets. Trapped by forestry workers and supervised by wildlife experts, specialists are working to locate and capture the animal safely.
