The search for a missing 65-year-old from the Gostynin district ended tragically wheniversit his body was pulled from Lake Sumino.
Search conducted by local authorities
After the 65-year-old went missing on Friday the 29th of August at around 16:30, while the last seen near the hospital in Gorzew wearing only pajamas and slippers, immediate search and rescue operations were launched by the Gostynin County Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, supported by fire brigades from several local volunteer units.
Search efforts spanned two nights
The search efforts began in the evening and continued until approximately 1:00 AM, before resuming at dawn and lasting until noon the next day.
Body recovered and autopsy pending
The body was recovered from the lake on Saturday the 30th of August at noon by local rescue workers. Police, firefighters, and a prosecutor were present at the scene. An autopsy was performed to determine the exact circumstances of the man’s death.
