Donald Tusk Displays Photograph: ‘Belarusian Soldier Is attentively listening’

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk showed a photo of a Belarusian soldier attentively listening during his meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at the Polish-Belarusian border crossing in Krinke.

SAFE Defense Program

19 European Union countries have joined the EU’s SAFE defense program, with Poland set to be the biggest beneficiary. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the program provides €150 billion in loans for defense spending. “It’s 150 billion euros for joint purchases, to make our home stronger and our Union safer,” she added.

Poland Border Visit

Commission President von der Leyen visited the Border Guard post and inspected the modernized fortifications on the eastern border. The leaders discussed the implementation of the EU’s SAFE defense program, the peace process in Ukraine, and security guarantees for a state facing Russian aggression.
