TVN24 barred from Solidarity event featuring Karol Nawrocki

TVN24 was denied access to an event marking the 45th anniversary of the signing of the August Agreements, with Solidarity organizing a competing event in Gdańsk.

Solidarity’s Separate Event

On Sunday, August 31, two separate events commemorating the 45th anniversary of the signing of the August Agreements took place in Gdańsk. One event was organized by the Gdańsk authorities and the European Solidarity Centre, while the other was organized by NSZZ “Solidarność.”

TVN24 Denied Entry

TVN24 reported that they were not allowed to enter the premises of the Solidarność event being held in the historic MHM Hall of the Gdańsk Shipyard.

TVN24’s Statement

TVN24 stated in their statement that “this is not and will not be our consent” and that the decision of the organizers, who barred cameras at the event featuring Nawrocki, has no basis and violates a number of laws and the constitutional principle of freedom of the press.
