F-16 Crash at Radom Airport: Limited Operations Resume

F-16 fighter jet crash at Poland’s Radom Airport forced a temporary closure, but operations resumed with limited capacity as authorities continue safety assessments.

Resumption of Limited Operations

The Warsaw-Radom airport resumed operational activities at 5 PM, with reduced parameters for the runway. In situ assessments involving experts from Poland’s Airports and the Road and Bridge Research Institute are ongoing to restore full operational capabilities.

Operational Adjustments

The airport management has requested passengers to contact airlines directly for rebooking information, emphasizing that all safety measures are prioritized.

Damage Extent

A 1-kilometer long section of the runway was damaged, and a 200-meter section suffered damage to the pavement from the impact. This follows Thursday’s (28 August) crash of an F-16 during air show attempts. Pilot Major Maciej “Slab” Krakowian was killed in the accident.
