Russia’s Defense Ministry published a video showing an absurd map of Ukraine, which shows the country landlocked, while threatening “we don’t want Ukraine to become a trampoline for an attack.”
Russian Defense Map Alteration
The ministry’s altered map shows Russia claiming parts of Ukraine, including the Donbas region and Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Oblasts. The map also removes Odessa and Mikolajov Oblasts from Ukraine’s coastal access.
Russian Politician Threat Warning
Andrei Kolesnik, a Russian deputy, stated that “if Kyiv continues this same policy, the map of Ukraine without access to the sea could become a reality.” He warned that Russia may take additional regions, insisting, “We do not want Ukraine to become a trampoline for an attack.”
Ukrainian Response: Destruction of Russian Assets
Ukrainian forces destroyed two Russian Mi-8 helicopters and a transport vessel near Sevastopol on Crimea. The Ukrainian military intelligence stressed that drones targeted the airbase near Simferopol. The attack resulted in Russian losses estimated at $20-30 million.
