Sikorski Presents Rubio with Historic Commemorative Gift

During their meeting on September 2nd, Polish Vice Premier Radosław Sikorski and US Senator Marco Rubio discussed bilateral cooperation in security and energy, as well as the future prospect of ending the war in Ukraine.

Historic Gift Presented

Following their discussions, Vice Premier Sikorski presented Rubio with a commemorative poster of the “Midday” exhibit from 1989, signed by former President Lech Wałęsa. The poster symbolizes the struggle against the communist system and the protection of democracy, values for which the Solidarity Prize is awarded.

Solitary Awarded Lech Wałęsa Prize

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that both politicians also presented the Lech Wałęsa Prize. The recipient was Cuban activist Berta Soler. Rubio, of Cuban descent, is involved with the Cuban immigrant community in the US and his presence added significance to the event held at the historic Biltmore Hotel in Miami Coral Gables.
