Students at Ząbkowice Śląskie are dropping out of the new health education program, which replaced preparation for family life, with concerns about duplicative content and curriculum chaos.
School Director: Low Interest in Health Education
Tomasz Błauciak, director of the LO in Ząbkowice, acknowledged that student interest is low. “We decided, for organizational reasons, to gradually introduce the subject in grades II and III, to allow first-year students time to adapt. My plans were to make the classes engaging, instructive, and led by specialists: psychologists, pedagogues, and biology teachers,” he said.

Nie od dziś wiadomo, że to non-obowiązkowy przedmiot i podjęcie takiej decyzji hipotetycznie należy do uczniów i rodziców. Myślę, że niewielu uczniów zdecyduje się uczęszczać, zwłaszcza że przed obowiązkowym maturą i mamy naprawdę dużo innej nauki na głowie poza tym rozszerzamy biologię, więc to częściowo jest powiązane z edukacją zdrowotną, część materiału na pewno się powiela
Students Rejected New Program Due to Conflicts with Existing Courses
Both students and parents from diverse specializations expressed their frustration with the introduction of the program, pointing out that it would only add to an already crowded curriculum. “It’s quite clear that many students are already overloaded with classes,” said one student. “We’re already taking biology; this would only add more stress and unnecessary pressure.”
