The city has launched a key phase for the Wola to Central Station direct tram service. Tramwaje Warszawskie announced a competition for comprehensive project documentation of the Chrobry Square to underground platform 9 connection. Construction of this section is planned post-2030.

Route details

The new route will be approximately 1.4km long, with 900 meters underground. According to the city council, the tracks will run through an existing underpass under the railway station and then through a new tunnel via Prądzyńskiego and Krzyżanowskiego streets. The connection from Chrobry Square is planned near the “Wolski Hospital” station.

New stops

Three new stops are planned on the route: an underground one near platform 9 of the Central Station, another underground near Tunnel Street, and a possibly underground or overground one at Prądzyńskiego Street. Additionally, the Kasprzaka Square stop complex will be expanded.
