Drunk Driver Tied to Drugs Faces 5 Years in Jail After High-Speed Chase

A 31-year-old man from Ciechanów faces up to 5 years in prison for driving under the influence while evading a traffic control stop, during which authorities found drugs in his possession.

High-Speed Pursuit

On Friday, August 29th, 2025, shortly after midnight, the aggressive driving of a Daewoo driver was spotted by patrols from Ciechanów’s Patrol-Intervention Department, prompting a high-speed chase that lasted several minutes.

DUI and License Violations

A nearly 0.8 promile alcohol level was detected in the 31-year-old driver during a breathalyzer test, and subsequent checks revealed he was driving without a valid license.

Narcotics Found in Car

Police also discovered drugs in the car’s possession, both by the driver and his 39-year-old passenger, which subsequently tested positive for methamphetamine.
