First Library Opens in Warsaw Metro at Kondratowicza Station

Warsaw’s first metro library, Metroteka, opens at Kondratowicza Metro Station on September 4th, offering over 16,000 books, self-check systems, and a hydroponic urban garden.

Metroteka, a novel initiative in Warsaw public libraries, combines metro infrastructure with public library services. It aims to offer easy access to books and cultural activities to commuters and residents alike.

Wide Range of Offerings

The library features over 16,000 books for children, youth, and adults, including new releases, literature, biographies, travel guides, and local history titles. Game tables and foreign-language materials add to the collection.

Modern Amenities and Accessibility

With RFID systems and self-check units for convenient check-in and check-out, the library promises a user-friendly experience. The facility is fully accessible for individuals with mobility issues, and is easily reachable by Metro Line 2’s Kondratowicza station.
