Pensioner Suspended Mortar Round on Neighbour’s Fence, Threatened to Blow Up House

A 68-year-old man in Kobyla Wola, Mazovia province, hung a deformed mortar round on his neighbor’s fence and threatened to blow up the house, sparking safety concerns from police.

Suspension of Explosive Device

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon when a mortar round was discovered hanging on the fence of a residential property in Kobyla Wola. Although it was located just a few meters from a public road, it did not pose an immediate threat.

Threats of Violence and Detainment

Police revealed that the perpetrator was the 68-year-old neighbor who had been threatening to blow up the victim’s house for several days. He reportedly claimed to possess additional similar items that he could detonate, causing genuine concern among the victims.

Explosive Ordnance Reminders

The Kobyla Wola Police Department reminded citizens that unexploded ordnance remains a significant threat. “Even items that appear rusted and insignificant can explode after several decades,” said police officials in their statement.
