Polish Expert’s Meeting With Trump Raises Questions About Relations

Polish expert Karol Nawrocki is set to meet with former US President Donald Trump on Wednesday, raising questions about Poland’s influence in US foreign policy under current President Joe Biden.

Nawrocki’s Potential Role in US-Poland Relations

The meeting follows a recent visit to the United States by Polish officials, including former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski, to discuss the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Speaking to the Polish News Agency (PAP), Dalibor Rohac from the American Enterprise Institute commented on the meeting, saying that Trump appeared “very open” to listening to Poland’s concerns about Russia, Ukraine, and other critical issues for European security under former President Andrzej Duda’s administration.

Polish Influence in US Foreign Policy

Rohac questioned whether current President Biden could become “the new ‘Trump whisperer'” and potentially steer the administration towards a more constructive policy, especially regarding Eastern European security, Ukraine, and NATO.

Poland’s Presence in Washington

The expert noted that both the veto imposed by President Duda and the internal dispute between President Biden and the Polish government regarding foreign policy have been noticed in Washington.
