Trump Speaks About Russia’s Actions
U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Russia’s role in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine during an interview with Scott Jennings on YouTube on Tuesday, September 2. He expressed his disappointment towards Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying, “I guess we’ll see, but I’m very disappointed with President Putin,” adding that his administration would do something to help the people.
U.S. Government Considering Options
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced on Monday that the White House would consider available options for dealing with Russia. “President Putin, after his historical meeting in Anchorage, telephone call – when European leaders and President Zelensky were at the White House next Monday – has done the opposite of what he declared. In fact, he’s meticulously intensified the bombing campaign,” he said on Fox News.
Russia Bombs Ukraine
Russia carried out massive attacks on Ukrainian cities last week. The result was at least 21 deaths in Kyiv, including children, and 40 people injured. “This is clear disregard by Russia of everything the world is doing to stop this war. Yesterday, the Russians literally denied the words of President Trump regarding a meeting of the leaders which is necessary to end the war,” wrote Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday.
Russia’s Intentions
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also pointed out that Russia’s desire to end the war does not indicate the accumulation of forces in some sectors on the front line of the conflict.
