Nawrocki Meets Meloni in Rome, Pays Respects at John Paul II’s Tomb

Polish President Karol Nawrocki met with Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome on September 4th, discussing key issues including EU-Mercosur trade deal and Middle East stability during their talks.

During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the importance of strong bilateral relations between Poland and Italy, and discussed their shared support for international peace initiatives, particularly in Ukraine. They also touched on the necessity of continued engagement to stabilize the situation in the Middle East.

Wreath-Laying Ceremony at John Paul II’s Tomb

Before the meeting, Nawrocki and his wife Marta paid their respects at the tomb of Pope John Paul II. The Presidential Chancellery shared photos of the ceremony on social media.

Meeting with Former US President Donald Trump

In addition to the Rome visit, President Nawrocki also attended a meeting in Washington D.C. with former US President Donald Trump. Trump reiterated the US’s commitment to Poland’s security and expressed his wish for US troops to remain in Poland.
