F-16 Jet Crash Investigation Update
As reported by Procurator Piotr Skiba on September 4th, the decision was made to appoint two investigators to handle this matter. The investigation is proceeding in the direction of unintentionally causing the military aircraft accident, which resulted in the pilot’s death.
Current Status of Investigation
The investigation continues with 48 witnesses having been interrogated, and four flight recorders (black boxes) secured. Over 500 people were involved in the on-site operations, and investigators covered 35 hectares around the airfield. A large amount of evidence has been collected as part of this probe.
Duplicate Investigations
Procurator Skiba mentioned that the State Commission for the Investigation of Aviation Accidents is also conducting its own investigation. These two investigations are separate, with the procurator’s proceeding under the criminal code procedure.
