Confederation leader Sławomir Mentzen was directly accused of political arson by Jarosław Kaczyński at a recent rally, where he proposed forming a government with the Opposition Civic Platform, which the PiS leader deemed a national betrayal.
Kaczyński sharpens his rhetoric against Confederation
During a rally in Białystok, Kaczyński accused Mentzen of creating a nation divided between those with “gigantic incomes” and those living in poverty. Piotr Müller, PiS’s secretary of state, went further by labeling Mentzen a “small Balcerowicz” during an interview.
