Polish radio and television journalist Katarzyna Stoparczyk, a renowned author and theater director, died in a tragic car crash in Jeżowe on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, after attending a Women’s Congress debate earlier that morning.
Tragic Accident Details
Stoparczyk, 58, was involved in a fatal two-car collision on the S19 expressway in Jeżowe, Podkarpackie Province. Two people died and three were injured in the crash, according to first responders.
Prestigious Career
Stoparczyk was a celebrated journalist with a Pulitzer Prize for her investigative reporting. She was known for her work in both radio and television, as well as her authorship of several books and her theatrical productions.
Congress Appearance
The journalist had been scheduled to speak at the Women’s Congress in Katowice later that evening. Just hours before her death, she participated in a debate titled “A Word Heals, a Word Hurts” in Stalowa Wola.
