Tusk Warns of “Serious Consequences” After NATO Allies’ Polish Airspace Breach

Prime Minister Donald Tusk strongly condemned two violations of Poland’s airspace over the weekend, warning of “grave consequences” for any further provocation while assuring full diplomat and military readiness.

NATO Allies’ Airspace Breach

During a press conference in Łomża on Friday (5 September), Donald Tusk referred to an incident that occurred between Wednesday and Thursday night (3/4 September). The Polish military previously reported that Poland’s airspace had been violated twice during this period.

Tusk’s Response

“Here, in the east, the need for security, including the presence of allied forces, is greater than in some other regions. As you know, we are dealing with an increasing tension, related to provocations,” said the Prime Minister, adding that he had spoken at length with the Minister of National Defense and would react decisively.

Warning of Consequences

“Anyone who would risk such provocation will have to face serious consequences, both in terms of diplomatic reactions, actions by the state and our services, as well as kinetic actions,” Tusk warned, specifying that “anyone who will violate Poland’s airspace will have to face the response of the Polish army, and this will happen immediately.”
