A drone crash-landed on a farm near Majdan-Sielec, Poland, on Saturday, with no evidence of an explosion, raising concerns about smuggling.

Unidentified Drone Found in Poland

On Saturday, a drone crash-landed in Majdan-Sielec, Poland. Located in the Lubelszczyzna region near the border, the field where the drone landed was immediately cordoned off by police.

No Evidence of Explosion

During the initial investigation, authorities found no signs of an explosion, despite claiming that there could have been one. The lack of explosion residue suggests that the landing may have been incident or intentional.

Suspected Smuggling Activity

Prokurator Rafał Kawalec of the Zamość District Prosecutor’s Office indicated that while smuggling remains one of several hypotheses, other more serious possibilities, including connections to Ukraine or Russia, are also being considered. The drone, primarily composed of styrofoam and powered by a gasoline engine, does not exhibit any military characteristics.

Investigation Continues

While the drone’s presence remains unexplained, local residents reported hearing a whistling sound and then a thud. The owner of the field stated that the incident occurred around 2 am when the family was interrupted by the drone’s approach.
