Two civilians were injured in an illegal explosion at a Warsaw military training ground after explosives were discovered in their home. The area has been evacuated due to safety concerns.
Illegal Entry and Injuries:
Two civilians illegally entered a military training ground in Warsaw’s Rembertów district yesterday, resulting in an explosion that injured both individuals severely. They sustained multiple lacerations and were transported to the hospital—One by military helicopter, the other by ambulance.
Military Investigation:
The Military Gendarmerie noted that the civilians “entered the restricted area in violation of clearly marked prohibitions.” They will investigate the origin of the explosive and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Explosive Materials in Home:
Substantial amounts of explosive materials were found in the home of the injured individuals, according to the Military Gendarmerie’s social media announcement. The materials were located alongside remnants of grenades and mortar shells.
Evacuation Measures:
Due to safety concerns, local authorities decided to evacuate buildings in the area around Zawiszaków Street. Residents within a 300-400 meter radius of the affected residence were evacuated. Initially, residents were expected to return home on Sunday, but the large quantity of explosives found during the search and the need to maintain safety procedures for transport and neutralization delayed their return until Monday morning.
