Trump Answers Polish Journalist’s Question About Escalating Sanctions on Russia, Says He’s Ready

U.S. President Donald Trump answered a question from Polish Radio during a White House meeting, suggesting the second phase of sanctions against Russia could be imminent.

Trump’s Response

In response to Polish Radio journalist Mark Wałkuski’s question regarding lack of action against Putin, Trump mentioned secondary tariffs on India, stating, “That’s cost Russia hundreds of billions of dollars. That’s not lack of action? No, you haven’t seen the second or third phases.”

Secretary of the Treasury Suggests Possible Escalation

U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent suggested a possible escalation of Washington’s policy towards Russia, stating that the U.S. and EU must cooperate to weaken the Russian economy.

Nighttime Russian Attacks on Ukraine

Russia carried out the largest air attack on Ukraine since the start of the war, targeting both government buildings and residential areas. Ukrainian air forces intercepted 747 Shahed drones and nine Iskander rockets, though some civilians were injured or killed.
