Cause of Death Unknown

Authorities are yet to determine the cause of Aleksiej S.’s death, though they are investigating whether it’s connected to his professional activities as the head of K-Potash Service, a company developing a potassium mine in the region.

Company Founders have Suffered Mysterious Deaths

Aleksiej S. is the 19th high-level company director to die under mysterious circumstances in Russia over the past 3.5 years. A regional investigative committee is now handling the case.

Company in Financial Ruin

According to Rbc.ru, the Kaliningrad Regional Arbitration Court issued a ruling in October 2022 stating that Aleksiej S.’s company was in “dreadful financial condition.”

The development of the potassium mine in the village of Niwenskoe was supposed to start in 2021, but its launch was delayed due to protests from local residents.
