Janusz Korwin-Mikke Registers New “Confederation” Party Amid Confusion and Controversy

Polish politician Janusz Korwin-Mikke registers a new political party named “Confederation” despite existing legal issues and internal conflicts, leaving many questions about its formation and objectives.

New Party Registration

Janusz Korwin-Mikke has registered a new political party called “Confederation,” marking the fourth party in Poland with this name. The party, which goes by the official abbreviation KonFed, intends to operate alongside other existing “Confederation” parties including those led by Krzysztof Bosak and Sławomir Mentzen, and Grzegorz Braun.

Polish political commentator Przemysław Wipler believes that the new party could be a form of “masquerading,” citing past activities by Korwin-Mikke that have potentially harmed their shared political environment. Wipler argues that the new party lacks the organizational capabilities to compete in national elections.

Internal Conflict within the Part

Janusz Korwin-Mikke was removed from the Council of Leaders of the Confederation party and suspended from the party in October 2023. The reason for his expulsion was the “Stockholm syndrome” and “translation from his stupidity,” as stated by Witold Tumanowicz.
