Kremlin Responds to Ukraine Crisis: Pieskow Discusses Sanctions and Diplomacy

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Russia would continue its “special military operation” in Ukraine until a peaceful resolution is achieved, despite unprecedented sanctions which have not yielded any results.

Major powers plan Ukraine conflict talks

American President Donald Trump announced plans for new round of talks on Ukrainian conflict. European leaders will come to the White House on 8 or 9 September for discussions, with Trump hoping to arrange a personal meeting with Putin.

Russia escalates air attacks

Russia launched over 800 drones, guided missiles and ballistic rockets at Kyiv on Sunday, targeting and damaging the Ukrainian government building for the first time.Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces have reclaimed the village of Zarichne in Donetsk region after liberating it from Russian occupation.

Limited military advances reported in Donbas

Ukrainian forces managed to push Russia back by 26 sq km in the Donetsk region, near Pokrovsk and Dobrople, reversing earlier advances where Russia seized only 5 sq km.
