The Platforma Obywatelska (PO) tweeted about combating communication exclusion but quickly faced criticism for not understanding the concept.
Storm of criticism against PO
The Platforma Obytatelska’s tweet about combating communication exclusion has been met with significant criticism from opposition parties and ordinary citizens alike. The tweet featured images promoting the possibility of obtaining a driver’s license at the age of 17, sparking debates about the true meaning of communication exclusion.
Definition of communication exclusion
Marcin Duma of the IBRIS foundation pointed out that the PO doesn’t seem to understand what communication exclusion is. “What kind of idea is this?” he wrote, urging the party to educate themselves on the concept before attempting solutions. Others acknowledged that communication exclusion is a real problem in many parts of Poland, particularly in areas ruled by PO on Warmia and Mazury.
Government’s new driving regulations
The government has recently passed legislation regarding driver’s licenses for individuals aged 17, while requiring young people aged 16 to wear helmets while riding scooters or bicycles. Parents must also provide written consent for those under 18 to receive a driver’s license. This measure has been met with controversy, elevating the debate over communication exclusion.
