Majority of Poles Support Return of Homework to Schools, Survey Shows

According to a recent survey, 66% of respondents believe homework should be reinstated in Polish schools, while 17% oppose the idea.

Survey Highlights

A poll conducted by Opinia24 for RMF FM found that 66% of 1,000 adults support bringing back homework to Polish schools. 17% of respondents were against it, while 17% had no opinion on the matter.

Political and Demographic Breakdown

The survey revealed significant differences among political groups and demographics. Supporters of the Law and Justice party favored the idea most strongly (83%), followed by those who voted in the presidential election for Karol Nawrocki (78% of first-round voters and 76% of second-round voters).

Most Support Among Educated and Older Voters

The majority of secondary education graduates (76%) and women (69%) supported the return of homework. The highest levels of support also came from individuals over 60 years old (71%).

Youth and City-Dwellers Less Supportive

Younger respondents aged 18-24 were least supportive, with only 54% in favor. Patterns also showed less support among university graduates and city-dwellers.

Minister Nowacka’s Vision

Education Minister Barbara Nowacka has expressed plans to reintroduce homework based on the results of evaluations by the Institute of Educational Research and eighth-grade exam results.
