Massive Truck Crash Closes Poland’s S8 Highway Near Ostrołęka

Four fire brigades battled a raging fire after a truck transporting food items collided with another truck carrying a passenger vehicle on the S8 highway near Ostrołęka early Tuesday, closing a stretch of the road for six hours.

Collision Details

According to preliminary findings, one of the trucks was on the shoulder of the road when the second vehicle crashed into it around 4 AM near Ostrołęka. The impact caused both trucks to explode, completely destroying the truck carrying food items.

Road Conditions

The road remains closed in both directions, with emergency services directing traffic using one lane. Authorities expect the road to reopen within six hours.

Injuries

No one was injured in the incident, though both drivers fled the scene before the fires could spread. They managed to escape without any physical injuries.
