Polish MP Witold Zembaczyński suggests offensive maneuver against Russian drones, proposing retaliatory strikes in Kaliningrad if drones mistakenly cross Polish airspace.
Polish MP Proposes Retaliatory Strikes
Polish MP Witold Zembaczyński from the Civic Coalition has proposed a radical plan for dealing with Russian drones violating Poland’s airspace. “The idea of mutual misunderstanding – if we accidentally cross their territory, something should be sent back,” Zembaczyński said.
Sharp Critique of NATO’s Air Defense
Zembaczyński criticized NATO’s current air defense strategies stating, “The single clear and concise statement from the propaganda game was coming from the Kremlin.” He argued that NATO’s air defense must be moved forward to the alliance’s eastern borders to intercept drones flying towards NATO territory.
Former NSC Head on Air Security
General Stanisław Koziej, former head of the National Security Bureau, supported the idea stating, “NATO should shoot down threats before they enter our territory.” He denounced the current air security as insufficient, given the constant aerial incursions from Russia, particularly in areas near Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria.
NATO Decision Needed
The final decision should come from the North Atlantic Alliance, Koziej emphasized, citing the urgent need for a coherent defense against threats. “We must push our aerial defense forward to intercept drones before they reach our borders,” he said.
