Russian Drones Repeatedly Breach Polish Airspace: “Action Targeted at NATO”

Polish authorities confirmed 19 incidents of Russian drones breaching its airspace beginning Tuesday night, marking the first time drones entered from Belarus and prompting NATO to activate Article 4.

Russian Drones Violate Polish Airspace

Russian drones entered Polish airspace multiple times over the course of several hours during a large-scale attack on Ukraine. Some drones were shot down, and Polish authorities confirmed finding drone remnants in 10 locations.

NATO Activates Article 4

Following the unprecedented breach of Polish airspace, Poland officially requested the activation of NATO Article 4, which allows for allied consultations. While responding to the attack, NATO aircraft engaged with the potential threat in the airspace of the alliance.
