On Wednesday, September 10th, shortly before 4 AM, the Operational Command of the Armed Forces reported that Polish airspace had been repeatedly violated by drones during Russia’s attack on targets in Ukraine. Security services decided to shoot down the drones that had crossed the Polish border. It is estimated that there were as many as 15 drones in total.

Drones Eliminated

The drones that intruded into our airspace have been shot down. Investigations and the location of possible crash sites are ongoing in the Podlaskie, Mazovian, and Lublin regions. Soldiers from the Territorial Defense Force are searching for debris from drones that violated Polish airspace. Ground search and rescue teams have been activated. Due to the incident, the airspace over part of the country was closed for a while. Some flights, including from Warsaw, were rerouted to other cities as a result of this decision, aimed at ensuring safety due to the drones’ violation of Polish airspace.
