Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and adviser to former President Donald Trump, was shot while speaking at Utah Valley University. He was shot once and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Trump’s response
Following the shooting, Trump urged supporters to pray for Kirk’s recovery, writing on his social media, “We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. He is a wonderful guest from start to finish. Let God bless him.”
Kirk’s role in Trump’s administration
Kirk served as an adviser to Trump, assisting in the selection of members of his cabinet. He is also a close friend of the former president’s eldest son, Donald Jr.
