Tusk Family Car Stolen Outside Poland’s National Security Service

A car belonging to Donald Tusk’s family was stolen from their home in Sopot, with Greek media reporting that Turkey had been most likely involved in the theft.

The car theft, which occurred on September 10th, involved a Lexus belonging to the wife of the Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk. Security around the Sopot residence, as well as the Warsaw government villa, falls under the jurisdiction of Poland’s National Security Service.

Policja and special services investigation

The Komenda Wojewódzka Policji in Gdańsk has launched an investigation upon receiving a report of the theft. However, this case is not only being handled by police, but also by special services, due to the involvement of Tusk’s secure residences.

Decrease in car thefts

According to the Polish Automotive Market Research Institute, the number of car thefts in Poland has been decreasing. In the first half of 2023 alone, 2,642 vehicles were deregistered due to theft, a 10% decrease from the previous year. Toyota is the most often stolen car marque, while Mazovia Province records the highest number of thefts, accounting for 40% of all such incidents in the country.
