Germany’s Skyranger Counter-Drone System Nears Completion

As Russia continues striking Ukraine with increasingly large drone swarms, Germany’s defense giant Rheinmetall is ramping up production of its advanced Skyranger counter-drone system.

Key Features of Skyranger

The Skyranger system is capable of covering an area of four by four kilometers, ensuring a completely drone-free zone by eliminating all adversaries.

Amphibious Technology

A distinctive feature of the Skyranger system is the Ahead (Advanced Hit Efficiency and Destruction) ammunition, which is programmed electronically to explode in a cloud of 162 tungsten micro-particles for maximum effectiveness against small targets.

Mass Production and Orders

Rheinmetall currently produces 70 to 100 Skyranger turrets per month, which are mounted on tank or armored vehicle chassis. The company plans to increase production capacity to 200 units. Numerous countries have already placed orders for the system, including Germany, Austria, Denmark, Hungary, and Ukraine, with Poland also showing interest.
