Man to face life imprisonment for drowning toddler in boiling water

A 33-year-old man in western Poland faces life imprisonment after allegedly scalding his stepson in boiling water as punishment.

Repeated Abuse

The man is accused of abusing the child from September to December 2024 in Krosino, West Pomerania region. He used vulgar language, pulled the child by the hair, and locked them in a bedding container as punishments, according to prosecutors.

Crime Caught on Camera

On December 31, 2024, the man allegedly submerged the child in a bathtub filled with boiling water. Initially claiming the child had fallen in accidentally, he later admitted to doing so as punishment when the child’s mother was not home.

Grave Injuries

The incident resulted in second to fourth-degree burns on the child’s hands, feet, abdomen, and face. Skin graft surgery was required, with the child suffering from a long-term illness that threatened their life and caused significant scarring.
